Spotted this 1975 VW camper with matching trailer whilst at Lochore.
The guy knew his stuff, and knew how to keep it roadworthy.

Fisherman I find these VWS are tricky to value as you see em for sale as cheap as £3000 in reasonable nick then some seem to ask £40000 so dont really want to say.A couple of years ago I purchased a 1988 Toyota extended campervan with a small extension on the rear which was the bathroom.I paid £2750 for it then sold it after some improvement inside and out then I managed to get £5750. This VW obviously in a different league to my Toyota Hiace.

Not going to get much more than 15 MPG, but they are not as bad as often though, certainly not great though . Main problem is they are often ordered from new with low gearing option, 55 MPH pretty much top speed, and you'll know about it too in an old one. Wear ear muffs when driving.
Although they are fantastic machines, certainly wouldn't be more choice for over landing. Too many compromises.

Mate used to have one. In South America now in a Sprinter 4x4.

That is a beautiful bit of kit for me to look at but not to own.
I do not have the knowledge or skill to keep her looking that good.

When he bought the trailer he had them both re sprayed.
He has had to do a lot of work to keep it road worthy.
Getting parts can be difficult.
