Went to see a Ducato camper last night, on start up there is a whining noise that disappeared after a couple of presses of the clutch. My limited mechanical knowledge suggests its a thruster bearing issue?
A. Would it be best to replace the whole clutch?
B. Any idea of cost?
C. Is it even worth doing on a 110k mile van?

Thanks in anticipation.

It will have a dual mass flywheel that you would want to change at the same time, done over here it would probably be about a £1000 to do.
A 110,000 miles isn’t a lot of miles in modern day vehicles.
Is it in miles or kilometres?

I have converted into miles.
Be about £1500 over here then, possibly £2k.
There was also a bump, bump noise under the dash, I assumed it must be a related issue or just a gremlin?

If there was free play in the clutch pedal the noise may be from the alternator bearings or water pump, starting from cold with the foot down on the clutch and no noise means the bearing and clutch is fooked.

How old is the van depending on age it may not have duel mass flywheel ,

2002 Baz. I won't be going for it now, had a chat with a garage they said it would be about £6k to do a complete replacement.
2002 won’t have a dual mass, but finding parts for those vans at that age is like finding hens teeth.
If you can find a pre 2006 sprinter then they are superb vans that will give you virtually trouble free miles,
And over there should be pretty rust free
