After nearly 3 years now trying to get a permit to put a log cabin on some land we have in Portugal I got in touch with the company who were going to build the cabin for me, this week i got a letter with a new estermat from them it had gone up 45 Percent so that made me start thinking then my agent called me to say he has had a Dutch couple come in the office looking for land with a building permit on it and ask me if i was interested in selling it, So i gave him permission to show them the land and see what price they would offer. When he call me back and told me how much they would pay i was well pleased. So when we sat down and worked it all out with what i paid and the cost of getting the permit i would walk away with nearly two and a half times what it cost me. I told him I would ring him back when we had talked about it. Then my friend next door with the farm phone my and ask if i was selling the land because he seen the agent there i told him i was thinking about it and he said if i do sale it he would match the offer. Plus a little bonus he would put a new track in and fence it of and i could stay there any time i wanted. He said his son had just passed his Vet exams and wanted to move from Lisbon so next week of to Portugal to sign the formes. :D:D

Wow, that truly is an offer you cant refuse. Hope goes through for you ok.

Nice one, Ken.
We coulld do with some good news

Can you screw your neighbours arm and ask him to keep a set of keys available for any of your special motorhoming friends that might pass by... Sort make the place look occupied, when it's standing empty ?

Of course we'll all leave a bottle of something nice behind us ?

very nice Ken !good on you

Tell you the truth i am gutted really i was looking forward to have something like that but my fault should have looked into it more. The cost of the taxes each year the insurance each year for something i can only use 3-4 months a year, so i will now start over again somewhere thats about 3 hour drive away not 9 hours away i can use weekends

Sounds like it’s all worked out good for you, great result.

Good result Ken, well done. I think now is a good time to cash in here in Pt. prices are as high as I think you will likely see for a while. Reckon there could be another property slump imminent , good timing and good luck finding similar closer to home, I'm sure you'll get something as nice and more than likely a better deal in Spn.

Hi.
Seems like you had a good offer and will be moving on , but a word of warning you may get clobbered with big tax bill especially as you are not resistant in Portugal. Best of luck.
