:confused:This above is something i would really like to do after watching Jedthespred's video of his wales trip but wondered if the bongo would be man enough and if the VW would be a better option!!! Any thoughts or views welcome please

The ground clearence on a VW Syncro I think is much higher than a Bongo so much better for extreme off road trips .. I know my VW could never go there :( Jeds videos rock! One day maybe we will own a Syncro too :p

I Have a Bongo and a landrover defender. I use both for wild camping and use the byways for travel and camping out, done wales numerous times.

The VW looks a much better option for clearance, the bongo is lower and i find that i really have to pick my routes down the lanes in it.

Daz:)

I have a Syncro and it is astonishingly nimble. Having spent years mudplugging in land rovers and dedicated 4wd's, I never imagined I'd have a comfortable camper that could get me out of trouble so well and yet still be the everyday runabout...and do almost 40mpg too! Real allrounder!

hmm get a Bedford :D

I drove a trans Africa expedition in one of them. You cant knock a Syncro though for just a couple of you. Sell the Bongo and have done with it, you will only be thinking about them untill you have one.

.

... another vote for the syncro here ... I recently bought one too with the intention of getting to where campers cant !

They have have a strong 'niche' following and as Jed mentioned the club 80-90 crew is good for advice ...
