I was a greengrocer for 30 years
then at 58 I decided to get out of the
"RAT RACE" so I sold up everything & gave up serious working.
now I make garden planters & ornaments like these
& sell them at the market on a Sunday

I make enough cash to keep my diesel tank full
and I can take of to the hills anytime I choose
(no commitments)

3 months holiday in the winter ha ha!  sundown

Nice looking stuff Sundown, and great idea for a thread Gary.
Me, most of my life in motor/engineering trade, inc. agricultural, plant and marine. Last few years in motor parts, but at the moment taking some time out to look after the kids. Obviously will try to pass on any help I can from the small amount of knowledge I have.

Regards Geoff.

Took early retirement this year.

This site

Not only is this site full of freindly and helpful people,we have a good selection of people with different knowledge, through there jobs.

Whats your job

The last 9 year I've been a GOVERMENT ARTIST[I Draw my pension:p].
In another life I could gaurentee NO ONE ever asked me fer FREEBY,Iwas [a] a Mortuary technician & before that I worked in an undertakers. I know both dead end jobs but at least no moaning from customers

Snowgoose.

Served an apprenticeship as a toolmaker. Worked a few years in England, then got a job in Hamburg in 1972, building the Airbus. Packed it in to sell English antiques to the Germans for 12 years. When the British dealers were coming to me to buy back the Antiques, I decided to pack it in. Bought a German "Kneipe" Pub in a farming village. Threw out the German farmers, renovated the Pub into a Country & Western Club. Done this for 17 years. Got divorced, settled financially with the Ex; and headed back to England to retire. Now I just travel and have fun on the 3 S's, sand, sea and sun.

sundown, they r brilliant what price r they.any discounts what market do u sell them at..

im a mechanic, did my apprenticeship when i left school but 12 years ago i became a push bike shop mechanic then became manager of the shop but 2 years ago it went down the pan since then iv worked in london doing maintenance on property but recently iv taken a job in a small camper conversion firm. so doin the best job for my hobby

Going Back To Jobs

IM A TRUCK DRIVER BEFORE THAT WORKED ON FAIR GROUND STARTING AS A MONKEY ENDED UP AS MANAGER:p

Having said that, I enjoy assisting my neighbour who is a mechanic changing clutches, cam belts and other than not doing plastering I have converted the cellars of our house, which open onto the rear garden, into living accommodation, bedroom and an en-suite wet room. Plumbing, electrics etc no problem other than the occassional swear word. But DIY wouldn't be the same without those would them, would they!!!!
