Last year i was asked by some friends in England to go and have a look at a very new big camp site near me, not far from Alicante well today they phoned me and ask if we could go down to see them Sunday as they are moving from there, They were hoping to stay there for 5 months and meet up with some friends form another club that will be there in march, all they have said on the phone is after a week they have had enough. And looking on the forum were her friends are coming from there are not the only one,s not impressed with it.

Would that be Camping Marjal? Had an email from them with offers of a discount, was put off by the 15km from sandy beach for a start.

Prefer to wildcamp most of the time but as I put in another post we might stay at La Manga for up to a month. Partly we just want to have a rest but location for getting out in our inflatable canoe (made a sailing rig for it) & do a bit of cycling. If we are wildcamping we tend to spend too much time travelling (my problem is I always think there is a better spot just up the road). Place looks a bit like a shanty town in parts but the camping plots are ok & facilities good.
Now got our Camping Cheque silver card, loaded it up for 22 nights (this will give us 28 nights camping as most sites offer 14 nights for 11 paid) cost per night works out at just under a tenner a night. Don't need to book so we don't have to use them for this year as they are valid for 2 years.

Yes that's the campsite my friends said it,s like being in the Ikea car park on a Sunday when the sales are on, all i hope is that they have not paid for the month. find out more Sunday.

Well i have just got back from seeing my friends on this new big campsite , yes i can now understand why they want to move. I did tell them about the walk to the bar and shops if they were put at the back and if they did not hire a car or bike they could not go any were but to go and see it for themselves but make sure they liked the place before they paid for 5 months stay luckily they only paid for 2 weeks, But i did not know that most of the day the music would be playing from the speakers that he had parked near to. And what i have read on another forum some travels are not going to be to happy when they get there, some Spanish friends that only go on campsite,s went for a week but have said they would never go again not even for a one night stop over. Its a shame really the new building work is very good the pool the spar every thing you want, it needed a bit more thought put into it before it was built.for me the location is wrong in the middle of no were and is far to big. If and i say if this ever got full it would be a nightmare in the summer with the nice from the campsite and the motorway. The service,s they have are very good but a little dear.
