Hi everybody, Well, that mid life crisis thing has happened, we are the proud owners of a kon-tiki 645-2007, i purchased the van last september with 300 miles on the clock, My wife and i have allready ventured to three sites in the south over the past couple of months , just to get to know the ropes before we set out on our eppic journey in july.
Well, i can see why you guys have a lot to talk about !! its not all plain sailing is it ? We have encountered many small teething problems but it`s nice to know that the sites we have allready been on fellow campers are allways on hand to help us out !!! finishing with the obligitory "don`t worry we did that when we started out" sorry i`m rambling it`s nerves in front of you pro campers. anyway we have booked the cat from pompey to le harv`e 29-6-10 to have a wander around france ect for four weeks, we would be very gratefull if anyone could offer us some sound advise regarding the do`s and dont`s whilst abroad, we intend to wild camp as much as we can? thankyou for your antisipated help.........Rodders (new forest )

Hi Rodders,
France is a great country for MH-ing. :)
You'll find a lot of info overhere on France - Wild Camping for Motorhomes
There are thousands of MH-aires in France; there are several guide-books on the market.
For wilding places also have a look on: camping-car: stationnements, aires de services, bons coins, BTS, annuaire étapes ACCL (look for BTS -beauty, tranquility, safety spots). Print out the lists.
Also look at: FRANCE PASSION la France en camping-car
Brittany is a nice region and generally very MH friendly, also the Dordogne and the Alps. Notthat friendly is the Côte d'Azur. Also avoid the bigger cities; rural France is OK.
Only ask when more questions arise.

Some sound advice from Leo in Belgium once again, he probably know's France better than most.
Welcome to the site and enjoy your trip, commonsense prevails when travelling and parking anywhere, even in UK.

Happy Camping:)
