Northern Spain, Portugal or central Eastern Spain in October?

Anybody have any experience of the weather in any of these parts for October. We were hoping to get away in September but had to change our plans so now it will be early October for about a month. Not looking for raving hot 20 - 25C would be fine for that time of year for us. We just want a bit of warmth away from an extremely cold Sothern France at the moment.

Follow the" Spain,Portugal Where are you? ", thread ", for updates.
You could be OK ,once you're clear of the Basque Country and below Burgos. Below a line between Lisbon and Madrid should be fair ,through October.
No guarantees, though.
Lovely, today, 30 miles east of Burgos.
Gotta be there, to find out

Out of kilter

The weather is definitely out of kilter this year so live updates are the only option.
Historically we've never made it south of Arcachon in France before finding it too hot for us but this year we are now only an hours drive away from Portugal and we are still able to head south; great for travelling, poor for swimming.

We're getting there 3rd October so I hope I ts a bit warmer than here in the UK. I'm watching that thread too.
