Hi everyone,
We are going up to North Yorks for the weekend, and are hoping to be 'wilding' Fri, Sat & Sun. night. We would like to look at Scarborough, Whitby and Gothland. Any local knowledge as to where we could stop-over would be appreciated. We are 7.25m long.
Thanks in anticipation of your replies.

Jackie;)

Whitby stopover

Hi Jackie. Leaving Whitby on the A171 heading for Guisborough there is a large off road tarmac parking place on the left hand side as you go into a right hand bend. Sorry the directions are a bit vague, but you shouldnt have any problem finding it. From what I remember it is only about a mile from the town. I stayed there a year or so ago, and a friend stayed there last weekend. Neither of us were bothered by anyone, and its a nice view down to the town and sea.

Hi Jackie, There is a Large Car Park with Toilets on the A171 at Scaling Dam i don,t think there are any signs staying No Overnighting,If you turn off the a171 just after Scaling Dam onto the B1266 signposted Runswick Bay or Hinderwell there are a few places off the road where you can park overnight. Also at the top of Birk Brow the hill on A171 Just out of Charletons village there is a large Car Park.If you look for a PUB CALLED " jOLLY sAILORS" there is a lay by on the left signposted Girrick you cannot be seen from the road there. An alternative is the A174 there are Laybyes between Boulby and Hinderwell -Hope this helps Sue

Hiya Jackie. I think this is the spot that Kreos is referring to ;), but I would recommend the village of Grosmont (Third photo) car park/picnic area where you will find a track and footbridge over to the Train station where you can take a steam train to Pickering via Goathland:)
