Have given up trying to find anywhere that doesn't resemble a football crowd this week, From Barmouth through Portmaddog onto the Lleyn through to Caernafon and Anglesey,
Enormous traffic queues and crowds of people everywhere.
Bit the bullet and got home mentally done in and hopefully covid free.
Will try again next week when the little blighters have gone back to school. Can't wait for all the sun spot countries to open up again, get them planes full so we can enjoy the UK :)

Nice and QT here if you avoid the hotspots like Portrush & Newcastle.
Kearny point is my fav place here in Co Down.

Hi I'm new! Any advice on where I can take the motor home and get near a beach or lake to use a dingy with a 6hp engine?

I have been wanting to get into the Lake District for a walk in the fells but after seeing the roads crammed with people parking around Buttermere on double yellow lines and Blocking roads at Wast Water, I have decided to stay away. Spending an hour looking for parking place is not my idea of fun.
There was an article on the local news about having park wardens at strategic points telling drivers that all the parking spaces are full and please do not block the narrow roads because the mountain rescue and other emergency vehicles can not get through.

I can't wait for the travel restrictions to be lifted to the sandy beaches of Europe, then the novice staycators will f ly off to their normal destinations.

The rubbish discarded in our beauty spots is not left by the regular visitors who have visited for many years, it is a certain percentage of the newbies campers and day trippers who are visiting for the first time who are causing the parking and rubbish problems.

Sounds like good old Irish common sense Trev, try to avoid the hotspots particularly at weekends. And if you turn up somewhere where there are to many vans, don’t join them, go somewhere else were you can enjoy yourself away from the people who reckon that carparks can be turned into campsites, for their use only.
