Calm down Brian don’t take it personal a few on here let of steam and vent it’s a forum and we need a common bad guy enemy if you like and someone official to blame for all our misfortunes. I don’t like name calling but it’s a big playground and sometimes someone gets a skint knee. Now I second my own resolution and move to the planning application B for a wild camp clubhouse. Motion passed permission granted. Now let’s have a drink.

Due to the nature of the forum and our present situation with regards to covid related restrictions unfortunately there are a lot of stressed, upset and frustrated people being brought together on the same platform. Your observation is fair but as with all other areas of our lives these are exceptional times. If we all had the freedom to enjoy our hobby as usual I suspect the vibe that you are feeling would not be present.

There are some excellent councillors out there doing a great job, and at times taking a lot of unwarranted flak.
And there are a few councils who don't see the best behaved visitors to their carparks as the root of all evil.
But sadly as we have all seen on here to many times, there are people who watch the TV, read their newspapers and swallow the
crap they show and print about us hook line and sinker. And unfortunately some of them are councillors, and NIMBYS with an axe to grind.
This year we have been grouped alongside people who's idea of camping involves leaving all of their human waste, general waste, and even their tents behind them. The same types that think nothing of vandalising the countryside, or carpark furniture provided for them.

I cannot be so forgiving of 'idiots, nimbys, councillors' who through their own anal retention try to spoil the enjoyment of others. Where I can be forgiving is when the 'idiots, nimbys, councillors' are willing to step back from their anal retention and look at the issues that so vexes them and try and see the other side.

Unfortunately, you might soon have to be 'correct' all the time or be a criminal if the SNP get their way. You'll only need to say or do something that somebody (not necessarily the alleged 'target') considers to be offensive to any 'protected' group. It won't need to actually offend anyone in that group and neither you nor the alleged 'target' need be in Scotland, it just needs someone in Scotland to consider it does...
... However, that might be a blessing in disguise the next time someone starts bleating on about motorhomes on the NC500 etc. as it might just invite an opinion that such hate speech offends the travelling community. Be nice to see this come back to bite the idiots and NIMBYs who want to destroy freedom of speech... Just saying...
