Whilst searching for e-books on line I inadvertently came across a link to Cemetery’s in Australia having had an uncle die whilst on munitions work in 1942 and he was not married our family having had poor news of the event due to ships carrying mail being sunk it was the third letter sent that reached my mum I am the last of our family line and no family member ever been to Australia

So I looked at this link it was about photograph’s of graves in various cemetery’s.
I knew from my mum he was buried in St Mary’s Anglican cemetery..... worth a look I thought sure enough there was a photo logged of a grave with his details I noted the photo number and sent an email thought well at 13.30 here on Christmas Eve it will be after the holiday to my surprise back came the photo of a well tended headstone and the kind lady said she will visit the grave which is at the other side of Adelaide to where she lives over the holiday and will place a bunch of silk flowers ( she said these would last longer ) and send me some photo’s of the grave with the flowers on.
On the grave is a nice flower vase with his name on who put this there ?? the answer I will never know but someone in 1942 thought enough to place it there

Who said there were no nice people out there.
By pure chance I have found one I just wish my mum was alive to see the photo's

Could it be the Commonwealth War Graves Commission? They are pretty good at this sort of thing.

It is indeed a nice story Alf.

Keep us posted on any future happenings.

Merry Xmas.

Possibly one of these John

Australian Nice People

Thanks Tony I had sent a PM to John it was not easy to retrace my steps... I was searching for an e-book author and as it sometimes happens one of the hits on my search engine was about South Austrailia Cemetery's this sparked an interest and I followed the link--then another and I never saved any of then as I had no idea where I was to end up.

While searching for the link for John I have found quite a few that do it for money and cannot give a guarantee of a result.

The 3rd link was this one Australian Cemeteries Website I then followed to the St Mary's Anglican cemetery and there I found the grave there is a link to follow for photo's and this turns out to be a Austrailian Cemetery Volumteer A very nice lady
I await the second photograph with the flowers
I do feel there more to this story note the size of the grave Tom was unmarried and had emigrated to Austrailia in 1925 he was sheep farming but went to sign up for the war and was sent to do munitions work instesd he was living in a lodging house at the time so why a double plot....
was there a lady friend !!!!

Alf
