What a shame, one of the bastions of good old fashioned journalism (man bites dog, girl of 8 has six nipples, two headed chicken has more brains than PM, etc.) is to close. Will anyone miss it? or has Wupert Murdoch finally done something good in his life? Although I see this as a feeble attempt to avoid litigation and liability.

We become what we read.
'The scandal paper' covered scandal for so long that it eventually became the scandal itself.
Utterly corrupt. Tied in with corrupt politics and corrupt police. They should give murdock life in prison.

It was reported on Radio 4 yesterday that the web name The Sun on Sunday was registered 2 weeks ago.

The reporters are saying that there will soon be a Sunday Sun. This has been about all my life. It is the Sunday paper for the Newcastle Journal and Evening Chroniocle in the north east of England.

The question is... Will you all buy and read the paper?

While you are at it don't buy The Sun either, because Murdoch will publish it on Sunday with the same rubbish content and same lies as the NoW.

No doubt he will re-employ some/most of the same staff from NoW.

Make no mistake, closing the NoW is purely a marketing stunt by Murdoch, hoping to pull the wool over the eyes of his somewhat gullible readership.

"Hello, I'm not at home right now but if you'd like to leave a message after the tone, the News of the World will get back to you shortly"

You needn't check for messages either as the News of the World will have deleted them for you.

If i ever bought any newspaper it would only have been for the sport and crosswords e.t.c anything else was just flicked through because i have never been interested in the private lives of celebrities or most of the complete crap printed.

I cant in all honesty tell you when i last bought a newspaper.
I for one believe that they are all the same and vow to not buy any newspapers again,it will only be a matter of time before the next scandal hits.

Boycott all of 'Murdoch Media' even 'The Times'has gone downhill since he got hold of it.

Whore's Gazette

News of the Screws, Screws of the world, whatever else it was called. My Dad, who is no longer with us, delivered papers as a boy in the early 40's. The common nickname for it then was "The Whore's Gazette" It had been a £$%^-sheet for alot longer than you might have thought. Good riddance, I say.

BBC News - Rupert Murdoch to launch Sun on Sunday newspaper 'soon'

..... maybe I could get into the future's markets

Same old crap spouted to the masses on a Sunday then....I can stop buying loo roll again!

I don't buy newspapers at all. I have no interest in who Cheryl Cole is :shag: No interest in wannabe celebrities, footballers wives, etc. etc. They may have a lot of money, but not very rich lives.

Hardly ever buy a new paper now and when the news of the World shut down, we knew nothing about it as we were abroad touring with NO News!:boat:
And we will have an Olympic black out as we will be away again!

News of the World shut down! :scared: Nobody told me. What was the reason for that then ?
