new year's eve

We have thought about taking the van out for new year's eve. TBH we only want to travel at max 2 hours from Medway in Kent. And also probably a campsite as we will have to put the awning up to fit everyone in. It'll be boys in the awning and girls in the van. Also there may a clubhouse with some entertainment to see the new year in with. Anybody got any suggestions or is anybody doing anything similar?

Hello SJ

I think theres something happening at stonehenge????, keep watching, something will pop up, i'm sure,

If there is an event at Stonehenge that night I'll definitely be in the clubhouse.:rockroll:....the one with the big stone pillars and flashing beams of torch-light and Basildog getting chased across the field by a couple of hairy arsed bouncers!

We usually try to go out at New Year, either with friends or the Cornwall British Caravanners Club section of the Camping and Caravanning Club. If you are a member of one of the Clubs, maybe something is going on in your area?? We don't wildcamp, though, but stay on a site. There are quite a few websites that you can use to search online for a site near where you want to go. i.e. UKCampsite.co.uk - Caravan Sites, Parks and Camping Sites in England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Europe

Good luck and have a great time!!:cheers:

Impending job loss has forced us to rethink our New Years Eve plans, so we will be cutting back on the fuel by spending the evening at Holme Moss car park, overlooking Holme and Holmsfirth.
We did this spot last year and had a very pleasant evening with other visitors setting off fireworks at 'the hour'.
Plenty of running/walking space for dogs and peeps. Can be a bit windy, but a good view point for firework 'watching', (from the warmth of the van of course).

We are booked in with a D,A. CCC Rally in a local school only 4 miles from where I live 5 night rally £50. £10 of which is for the New Year Eve Party, use of the school halls and facilities all the time, parties fun and games all the time etc. we are usually on route to Spain / Portugal by now but this year is slightly different so looking forward to it.:dance:
