hi there,:D
we are going to use our van at the newyear in the Avimore area, it has onboard tanks (whitch i have drained down ) when we go the heating will be on all the time. is it safe to fill the tanks before we go ? there is a valve to dump water if it gets to cold from the heater but i dont think it emtys the water tank and dont fancy a big repair bill as it gets very cold there;);)

im sure it will be fine as we had no probs with our caravan but the tanks were outside so i could check them..

any advice would be most welcome.;);)

Hi Dunc, as long as the heating is on you'll be O.K.

I've had my van filled for the last few days with the heating on no problem, and to make good use of the gas burned I've been doing the washing up and showering in the van.

I'll bet Aviemore is great at Hogmany, not sure what I'm doing yet, mid Wales for Christmas though, just sorting everything out at home first.

P.S., make sure your gas doesn't run out, I've 2 bottles and auto changeover, just keep an eye on it.

Merry Christmas and a braw New Year, Derek and Wee

Hi Dunk,

Don`t forget to take a bucket!

Leave your wastewater valve open and keep the bucket under to stop it freezing.

It always pays to have a separate container in the van full of water. 5 to 10 litres carried as a backup can be useful if you have problems.

Have a good trip.

never thought about the waste:eek::eek: i would take drinking water anyway as i wouldnt drink water from the tank:D
