Torch Light procession was brill. Fireworks better than New Years eve.

Didn't make the dancing the night after as it didn't start till 8pm.

New Years Eve in the centre was brill. Could take what you want to drink with you as long as you don't take any glass in with you (bottled and glasses). No trouble there at all (meaning louts/fights etc). Well worth the £5 ticket price. Great experience.

Highlight was Graham having too much to drink.:eek:

We stayed at the Caravan Club site there. Miserable warden (female), people don't seem to be able to mop showers after use or wash their hands after paying a visit:eek: Outside the site was alot of rubbish. Dog owners exercised dogs on site, not in the dog walk or the miles and miles of sea front just over the road.

However, in addition to the excellent bus service outside the site gate direct to the centre of Edinburgh, on New Years Eve a local taxi company operates minibuses for £10ea return, running till 5am.

Having a fellow wild camper there added to the events. When I get time I will look for suitable photos to post. Only returned today.

Has anyone considered or tried the end of Marine Drive (past the overpriced CC site) for wildcamping?

Hi Telstar

Glad you and ***** enjoyed yourselves.

The town centre gets quite a buzz at this time of year.

did you go for a jog along the prom in the morning:D

I would hesitate to camp along the end of the dual carriage way there,it is

lovely place to park up daytime and explore local beaches and cramond

village

however evenings tend to be a very different clientèle.

local youth and lotharios!

Went along the prom every day. Our little dogs love the beach. Will try the cafe one day.

Didn't see much in the way of youths, perhaps too cold for them.
