Decided to change the van from the Transit MK7 to a newer Transit Custom L2 H2. So much more room. Still have some work to do on it to get it to where we want but happy for now.
Trev the windies and doors open you stupid laddieLooks good, but where is the loo and washroom.
Let it all hang out.Trev the windies and doors open you stupid laddie
The loo is under the bed and who needs a washroom? Only dirty people wash!Let it all hang out.
Nice conversion. I hope you have taken the appropriate security measures as the thieves would like it too as with all transits.Decided to change the van from the Transit MK7 to a newer Transit Custom L2 H2. It's not just Transits that get stolen, my nephew runs a fleet of Sprinters all with factory fitted deadlocks and trackers, he's had 7 stolen this year and the tracker is usually found just down the road Even the CCTV in yard doesn't deter them If they want it they'll take it I'm afraid.Nice conversion. Remove a wheel at night or block it in with something, or a fuel cut-off valve/pedal lock etc. There is only one what to stop theft of your vehicles, leave them at the dealers.
By that reckoning ,might as well not bother then ....Might stop an opportunist Trev, but if they want it they'll recce then come back tooled for the job.
What I meant was to not go nuts on onboard security as most vans won't even get looked at and it also depends where you live too, don't park to make it easy for them, block it in all effective for any vehicle with a single spend..By that reckoning ,might as well not bother then ....
In the real world ,multiple layers of security
Disklok (ideally with extra welding)
OBD port relocate/armour (especially transit)
Fuel cut off
Electrical cut off
Pedal box
Hook locks
Cheap easily found tracker
Better well hidden second tracker
All take time to defeat and mean that even the, most determined scrote will likely move on to the next vehicle along where the owner hasn't bothered to do anything ...
Sadly Transits are one of THE most stolen vehicles next only to Land rover products .
