BEAT THE ULEZ CHARGES

The Future Starts Today April 1st 2026 as Highland Campervans unveil a World-First, City-Conquering, Grid-Defying Diesel-Electric Hybrid Campervan That Redefines Freedom, Innovation, and Imagination

In what can only be described as a monumental leap forward for humanity (and an entirely sensible solution to modern urban travel), Highland Campervans today proudly announces its exclusive UK distribution of the revolutionary Diesel-Electric Hybrid Tram-Compatible Campervan — a breathtaking collaboration with the visionary engineers at Wildax Motorhomes.

Yes, you read that correctly.

This astonishing, boundary-shattering, industry-upending vehicle doesn’t just drive on roads — it glides majestically along electric tram lines in major UK cities including Edinburgh, Manchester, and Blackpool, effortlessly bypassing congestion, emissions zones, and the very concept of limitation itself.

Designed exclusively for Highland Campervans — widely regarded (by absolutely everyone worth asking) as the Highlands’ premier distributor of campervans and motorhomes — this innovation is set to obliterate ULEZ concerns, redefine urban exploration, and usher in a new golden age of van life sophistication.

A True Game-Changer for Every Lifestyle

Whether you’re a weekend adventurer, a full-time van lifer, or a globe-trotting remote professional with impeccable taste, this campervan delivers:

  • Seamless integration with tramline electrical systems for limitless urban mobility
  • The ability to enter city centres once thought forbidden to campervans
  • Built-in power capabilities to run ultra high-speed satellite internet while on the move
  • Solar panels that don’t just power your journey — but can feed energy back into the grid via a state-of-the-art roof-mounted pantograph
  • The potential to generate actual revenue while living your best life on the road
This is not merely a vehicle. This is a mobile ecosystem of energy, freedom, and financial opportunity.

A Visionary Statement from Leadership

Catherine Bunn, Director of Highland Campervans, commented:

“This is as revolutionary for the leisure vehicle industry as the invention of the wheel itself. For too long, campervan enthusiasts have been excluded from the vibrant cultural heart of our cities — the museums, galleries, theatres, and cafés that make urban life so enriching. Today, we change that forever. The barriers are gone. The future is electrified. And quite frankly, it’s glorious.”

She continued:

“We are empowering our customers not only to travel freely, but to live, work, and prosper in ways previously unimaginable. This isn’t evolution — it’s a full-blown renaissance on wheels.”

Love it. Be fantastic for touring Europe as well, where so many cities have tram networks.
Also I can visit my mates back in Nottingham and drive around the city on the tram system for free, but use diesel to get there from Derbys.
What will they think of next?

And the pantograph only need to make contact with cable...............magic. (y)
Don't be silly it needs an earth to complete the circuit.
The tyres have external steel belts to complete the circuit and as a bonus are extremely long lasting.

The only problem that I can see are that alloy wheels will not be available.
