Whilst reviewing the Garmin Camper 760LMT-D I discovered this latest model from Garmin. Halfords | Garmin nuviCam 6" Sat Nav with built-in Dash Cam with Full Europe Maps and Traffic

My first thoughts are 'more to go wrong' and would you be better to buy a satnav and if you want a dash cam buy a separate device for that. Just wondering if anyone has bought one of these yet and if so what's your opinion of it? It's £50 less than the RRP of the Camper model.

The Camper 760 screen is 7" compared to a 'mere' 6" of the nuviCam model. The nuviCam wouldn't work for me as all I'd see is my bonnet mounted spare wheel!
The Garmin Camper 760LMT-D is available for £245 from hdewcameras.
I paid £200 for my Camper 760 when Aldi were selling it earlier this year. Brilliant bit of kit, and very impressed with the digital traffic receiver which usually gives earlier warnings than the fixed signs on motorways.
I've just installed the dedicated BC20 wireless reversing camera - a very useful addition.

Do you need a camper specific model or could you just use a normal sat-nav?

Also, i'd get 2 separate items.

I'll throw in my 2 cents on the Tom Tom Go Live Camper edition: https://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/drive/camper-caravan/products/

It's more pricey, but wow does it work well; we put in our camper dimensions so now we don't get sent down any unsuitable roads (a problem we have had many times before). The 'live' element is £47 a year, but gives live weather and traffic updates, offering alternate routes around closed/heavily trafficked roads right away.

Thousands of camping POIs show up, and the trip advisor element is excellent for finding restaurants and pubs too (complete with reviews so you don't end up in crappy places).

We have yet to use it on a full tour (we will be doing that at the end of the year in Europe) but it's become an essential part of our vehicle for us :)

I think that's poor value compared to the Garmin Camper 760LMT-D, which has FREE lifetime maps and live digital traffic. Lots more features as well and available for considerably less than the tomtom.

We went for the tomtom based on comparison reviews - yes, it is more pricey but the list of features combined with the higher technical spec had the tomtom coming out ahead almost every time, but of course each person will have their own priorities and buy accordingly.

Price point wasn't an issue for us and we wanted something solid and reliable with the maximum amount of features to make our journeys as stress free as possible, and so far it hasn't disappointed. The last day of our last mini tour we were in pouring rain in the middle of nowhere and as we were having some battery issues (now fixed and upgraded - hooray!) we wanted to find somewhere we could hook up with a nearby restaurant, and we found and had co-ordinates set within 1 minute.

Like I say what works for us may not be what someone else needs or wants, but we love it ;)
