New Aire pit stop at Kintail

A new Aire has just opened pit stop at kintail. I have added it to the POIs. Currently no facilities but they plan to instal chemical waste and EHU for up to 5 vans. They have been helped by CAMpRA. Nice cafe where you can have breakfast. Toilets in cafe. Local shop Kintail crafts within carpark with provisions. They currently charge £5 a night. They also have two rooms for rent. Possibly if you have friends without a moho you could holiday together.

Looks a handy stop to break up the journey on the way to Harris.
I’m sure you’ll see a lot more of these wee spots in the highlands as canny Scot’s are always keen to make a few bob

Is this the old cafe that overlooks the loch can’t remember the name but have stayed in the past with the cafe owner’s permission, if it’s the same place great stop if it is.

Hi Annie yes it was called Jacobite then. It had been closed for 6 years. A young couple have bought it, and have great plans. The cafe was excellent and reasonable. There are two rooms attached and will be rented out when ready.

Yes that’s the one used to overnight on our travels in the past.
