Hi all just back from quick five day trip to highlands from plymouth phew! but weather was great so worth it. I have however noticed that on my kitchen pull down black out blind silver showing outside cream on inside that the silver has gone not sure where on part of the blind and this is making it not so flat on the inside dont know what to do, can i just buy replacement blackouts rollers and from where, the window is a seitz and any ideas why this has happened and only to one window. Also hubby wants to know when you connect up on site does the leisure battery get charged up from the mains when you connected or only when we are driving along. And finally dont know how many of us do this but i have been picking up again after other wild campers or picnicers just to try and help us not get branded in with all the ones who leave there rubbish. Oh yes and anyone who has not tried the scenic rail trip through Rannoch Moor from any of the train stations before the moor must put this on there to do list it is amazing cheap good parking at station for motorhomes time in Fort William or even on to Mallag a must for a restful day out.

Re-your battery charging question.

Is your van a 'commercial' build or home build?
If home build, it could be doing anything on the charging question as it would depend on what the builder did when wiring up.

Commercial builds will generally have a charging unit that trickle charges the leisure battery when plugged in to the mains.

Easiest way to get an answer is to put a volt meter across the battery when not plugged in to the mains, then plug in the mains and see if the voltage goes up ........ you should be getting around 13.5v (ish) with no more than 14.5v when charging.

With regards to the blinds. Yes, you can replace them. Most caravan / motorhome dealers or accessories shop will supply them (either online or a real shop). Easy enough to fit. you just need to write down the length and width and get on the t'interweb search. I dont think the make of window matters, but without seeing your perticular set up I can't be sure.

Before you go spending your money, try this.

I have only done it on remis blinds but having just looked at my seitz it seems the same principle ..

Remove the blind from the window, and extend remove the bottom locating bar ....remove the lugs and slide the locating bar from the blind ...at the top of the blind do the same ...and then turn the blind upside down careful to remember how it is wound so silver side white side facing same way ...re attach locating bars ...and lugs

re attach the blind to the window ....On the left side you will see a cover remove and two flat head screws will be exposed ...tighten in a clockwise direction and you will re tension the blind ..and mossie net as required ....

I thought I would mention that in some MH's you need not remove the blind to tension your screens. I know I do not have to do it on mine. Like Channa says, there are two screws at one end which you just turn clockwise to increase the tension for blinds and fly screens. You MAY not have to remove them to do the job. Have a look first, might save you a lot of hassle and time.
