Navigation doesn't work in the app

When I try to navigate in the app, selecting Google Maps takes me to the website, not the Maps app.

The website then shows an option to navigate using the Google Maps App, but the button is inoperative, and navigation is impossible.

I'm sure it never used to be like this.

Are you using a smart phone, or are you using Android Auto on your van radio ?

A Samsung Android smartphone, and an Android tablet. Used to work on both before.

Please try uninstalling the Google Maps app and reinstalling it.
The chances are that the problem is with the way that the phone is configured to open certain file types, reinstalling the app may fix that.

Now it's working fine - and I've done nothing... so it's a bit of a mystery.
