National trust car parks?

Hi Folks,
Has anyone any ideas about using National Trust car parks for an overnight or is this just downright naughty?
I hope you can help and thanks in advance.
Regards
Greg

most in fact all nat trust car parks dont allow overnighting even if your a member and the wardens patrol, think i would prefer to find somewhere else for peace of mind . basically not worth the hassle, the thing i have found is the nat trust are they do some good work but they are not the friendliest of people. ok if you want to look round ancient buildings like my dear wife and and dont mind paying through the nose for the privilege then ok , even the membership is lets say expensive to my mind . ps the name aught to change to the national truss as you may need one if you are caught overnighting because they will have your family jewels off you:eek::D:D

I bet some have done it  by the way I haven't:) well I don't think so!!!!!!!!

I was told by a relative he is a member of the Scottish national trust as it's cheaper.

Very naughty, no can do, even if a member. Could make some great stopovers and make some dosh for the Trust if they allowed on a one night for parking charge basis.

Happy Camping:)

Yes I echo that, you'd be very lucky, I once did some work next door to a N.T estate office, they would'nt lend me a fence post which was lying in their yard, to put under my tower scaffold, for a couple of hours, after i'd asked it was promptly removed from sight.
I observed the goings on at this place or lack of it as you might say, ie one man all day to fix 3 "lambing time signs up" or two men all day to fetch one load of fencing rails. Talk about being overstaffed they take the biscuit, then they have the nerve to ask for volunteers and donations.

From what I've been told the trust always want their pound of flesh!

I have done it in Aira Force waterfall car park in the Lakes, no issues even though there were signs, make sure you are up by 9am to pay or move from the CP

Yes... some have done it and I'm guilty!

I have a few discreet, rural and remote favourites, all of which are (mostly) unpatrolled). I arrive after dark and leave early in the morning and, if I'm feeling generous, I drop a few ££ into their honesty box. I've never been spotted - although my Kangoo Roo could easily be mistaken for an ordinary car.

Re honesty boxes - I'm happy to offer a donation when given the choice. What I don't like is arriving at a NT car park and being hounded for money when my wheels have barely crossed their boundary. Normally then I turn around and leave. If they weren't so money-grabbing, they'd get far more from me!

I became a life member of the National trust, present from Madam when I turned sixty,. We have always found them
friendly and helpful. Being able to just pull in enjoy a visit and possibly have a meal we also find very handy. Regarding wild parking on N.T. sites is like anywhere else. Use your common sense, arrive late and leave early. We have ALL seen vans parked up in supermarket carparks, company carparks and in seaside towns parked up along the front with the blinds still drawn at 9.00 and that is just making life more difficult for all of us.
Just my opinion.
