N540 NW Spain - avoid!

I travelled the N540 between Ourense and Lugo today.

The worst road I've travelled on ever!

The surface is appalling with long stretches of potholes and huge surface irregularities. My speed was limited by swerving to avoid the worst offenders, and even crossing to the other lane in cases when there was no oncoming traffic. It's horrendous.

Give this a very wide berth!!

Thanks for the info , we were looking at that road for the summer , probably go coastal. Are you heading to Foz ? Nice town with large central aire if you haven't been before

I'm in Foz at the moment. The aire is excellent but I haven't explored the town much because the weather is wet!

We enjoyed the aire in San Cibrao which us not too far from Lugo.Next to the beach.Small village with shop.
