My poor little dog ...

My poor little corgi Sulas has to go in for an operation tomorrow,she has been unwell for about a week now not eating and tummy all swollen up and drinking gallons of water.The vet was going to scan her today but the other vet had the scanner out so .They are going to operate and take her womb and bits out and see what else is going on.Our other corgi her sister died a year ago with a huge tumour in her tummy so they are a wee bit concerned .I am just praying she is going ot be ok.the vet says she will be ok to go on holiday at the end on January with us if everything goes ok I do hope so..

Thanks folks I just pray she will be ok she has to be there at 9am so hopefully we will have her home by evening.

So sorry to hear thet Sulas has been unwell, We will be all rooting for her tomorrow and hoping she makes a speedy recovery.

Hi Alanvale know how you feel, My vet has made me his new best friend as I have funded his xmas,my wee bitch has not been right these past 12weeksDespite 6 blood test 1exray & 1 scan vet still has not got a clue,she put on 2kilo in 9 days is eating me out of house & home, has WIND 24/7 & the skitters 4/5 times a day,she no sooner has a meal & it's outside straight thro her. It's nigh on impossible to go out with or without her.So good luck with your wee dog hope your more succesful than me.

Hi snowgoose. My dog had a similar problem. Have you tried mixing a lot of white rice into his food.?
 
Hi got her home tonight still a bit dozy but going to be ok now.She had what the vet called Pyometra her womb had swollen up and was rather nasty looking and the fluid from it had gathered up the signs were anarexic and drinking gallons of water cause it affects the kidneys ,skitters and vomiting..she had them all poor we thing .Its a thing that older dogs sometimes get when they hav`nt had a littler and not been spayed.If I hadnt taken her yesterday when it really got bad her womb would have perforated and she would have died.she had a heat just finished last week we thought it was just her being a bit off but it got worse.Oh well at least we have ins this time the bill was £249 I really thought it would ahve been more.the one that dies last year was £400 it had a tumour removed from its spleen and died 3 months later.And we did`nt have ins ...Hope you get her sorted out snowgoose poor little thing.Our vet up here looks to be a lot more reasonable price wise as south I know my sister in Norfolk pays a lot more for everything there than we do.

Excellent news, been thinking about Sulas all day, take care of her and hope to see you all in January.

Im really happy to hear that sulas is on the road to recovery I think a lot of people on this site were thinking about her today

Well this morning she is a lot brighter actually pleased to see us when she woke, I think she was so sedated yesterday she didnt want to know us poor thing . Slept all night in her bed beside me after getting carried upstairs lol.

I do hope its good news about your little dog. They become part of the family and it is worrying when something is wrong. I'll say a little prayer and hope she will soon be better.
