my picture folder gone

my pictures folder dissapeared off my computer.
i got the pictures back & put them in my documents as the folder itself is gone.
i went into start menue - properties - customise start menue - advanced - my pictures - clicked on box "display as menu".
clicked apply - ok & restarted the computer.
all for nothing.
any ideas please ?

dunno but you could do a search if you know what they call the folder or whats in it, or if that fails do a system restore, sorry thats all the advice i can help you with, Canalsmand, Phil and Firefox are our resident comp experts

Do a search for *.jpg that will find all the pics (jpg extension) on your PC.

Check in your recycle bin?

You can also create a new picture folder (right click and select new folder from the pull down menu). Then put all your pics in that You should be able to change the icon and properties to match what was there before.

OK, so what folder are your pictures in? What is the problem wirth having them there?

If you what them in a different folder then create a new folder and put them in it.

DO NOT use system restore unless it is an absolute emergency.

i tried to do a system recovery but the computer will not do it.
it also wont undo the last system restore.
i think it needs someone who know more then me.

my computer had a system recovery done & the missing "my pictures" folder is back.
