I look at these old vans and it makes me think back to the custom van scene of the 1970's. I was too young to have one but always think it is a shame that wasn't still around when I had a license :)
This couple - https://www.youtube.com/@retrorevivals - is very watchable on youtube, bringing old 70's campers back to life (for their own use, not as a business).

I saw one of these at a dealer back in the 80's but I needed a 4 berth with facilities. I've always fancied one.

I no longer have the confidence to deal with a 30+ year old vehicle, but at this price I'm having to work hard not to go see it.

There will be a few of these at Lancaster Farm, Chelveston, Northants this weekend. The East Midlands Steam and Country Fair is on and there are usually a few vintage Motorhomes/Day Vans. I'll try and get away from our display and get a few pictures.

I came across a battered, rusty one, on Thassos, late - 90s.
The driver was weather beaten, wild of hair and eyes.
He shared his bottle of ouzo with me, and bought us a meal.
It turns out that he was a burnt out teacher, given 3 months sick leave, on mental health grounds, Claiming he was mad.

He'd spent all his time taking photos of his van on every one of the available Greek Islands.
starting in the S..E and ending on Thassos.
" Now let them say I'm not insane! " he said as he rattled and creaked onto the Ferry.

I'm sure it worked.

First motorhome was a 2.3 Bedford Glendale 1000L 1979 complete heap when I bought it in 1994 rebuilt the bodywork with a mate from work run it for 17 years had a few rides back with the RAC 😊 and often came back with oil under my fingernails but also some had some great adventures.
