He is currently up on the roof with caravan cleaner, scourer and wooden wedge and has just hollered down to ask me to get some ideas from you fellow wildcampers as to how to shift BAKED ON, LONG TERM pigeon pooh ... well, that wasn't quite the phrase he used ... but will do on a public forum!!!

Thanking you in advance

Let me guess did it rhymme with 'it'....:lol-053: I would like to know this also ...I think all the pigeons in Sussex have personall vendetta against me this week and decided to paint my car all sorts of shades of grey, havent got a clue what I did to wind them up !!!

Try making a paste from bicarbonate of soda and washing up liquid, leave it on for a few minutes, then rub off with a damp cloth. Bicarb is a gentle abrasive which will not damage the paintwork, and the washing up liquid should do the rest.

Marydot

How do you know it was pidgeons.. innocent till proven guilty!! Could be down to seagulls or crows.. they're the worst culprits in this neck of the woods:lol-053:

Sue:)

Try window cleaner, I discovered it's great for getting marks off white bodywork. The pink creamy stuff. From the smell I think it contains white spirit.

Otherwise use a strong vinegar / hot water solution and old rag and soak it for a while (try to keep the cloth warm so keep resoaking hot water) before following marydot's advice, you might not even need the bicarb.

.
Absolutely sure ... they sit in the 60ft eucalyptus tree, which the motorhome is parked under.:mad1: coating driveway and any vehicle parked in the vicinity. Even bought that holograph tape and stapled it to every branch as far as extending ladders could reach .... worked for about a week ....

I've been trying gently for a year or so to get OH to either cap it or have it felled ...... hey presto, after 4 hours of scrubbing .... the felling is scheduled to go ahead as soon as :raofl:

Off to Sainsgogs to get bicarb and some window cleaner in morning

What to do

What do you do if a bird craps on your car?

.........

Don't ask her out again!

I usually find the hot soapy brush at the jetwash followed by the power rinse held a bit closer shifts most if not all of it. Then more hot water on any stubborn bits.

At Yahoo answers we always used to give the "source" for our answer and my source is there is a huge sycamore tree in my front garden overhanging the drive and it's inhabited by hoardes of pigeons!

Whilst putting up the tarp at lake fest I did notice that your roof is a nice shade of black/green... ;-) I guess you haven't visited the jet wash for a while. I'm trying to imagine you jetwashing your roof perched on your step ladders :-D

You haven't seen my front garden :lol-053:

That huge sycamore tree also drops sap most of the year. It's a never ending job trying to clean the roof! I'm all for an easy life when things are out of sight. The state of my roof will just have to be our secret... and those few thousand others who saw my solar panel vid ;-)

Toilet paper and a bit of training stops it in the first place..............:lol-053:

If you haven't got the right cleaning products (plug I do) then the best method for removing baked on bird poo is to give it plenty of moisture, wait, then wet again, wait wet again, wait wet again and it should now come off. The easier alternative is to book me (oops theres another plug)
