My Knob is worn out and won't stay up

All the little 'camper' specifics seem really pricey  I paid over £15 for the little plastic sliding latch on my Dometic fridge, so I guess £13 doesn't sound too bad... as you say, it is what it is. Daylight robbery of course for little bits of plastic but my fridge latch is now going for over £30 on some sites! It's little things like this that still make me tempted to buy a 3D printer one day :)

The knob on the radio fell off the other day so I glued it back together with UV Activated Superglue. It will now fall off again in the morning. The knobs on the Laika hob were plastic covered in something like tin foil. When some of it started coming off I cleaned them all and then sprayed them black.

Sung in the wurzles style,

Now you've got a fridge latch, and I've got a combine printer and I'll give you the key.

Lol.

David, what's actually wrong with your knob?

Wait, the cooker control actuation device I mean!

On the inside there is a bit of plastic broken off which means it doesn't grip. I looked at the others and the electric hob one is the same and on two of the others, the same part you can see cracked when checked under a magnifying glass, so they will break eventually.
I think it is must be an age thing as that kind of break is so common (had it on a domestic cooker in the past but never bother replacing).

Did a bit of a search and found what looks like a decent price? https://www.thecaravanwarehouse.co.uk/Products/spinflo-cooker-knobs
Actually ordered up replacements for all the rings and the grill to refresh the lot (thinking may as well instead of replacing piecemeal)

I remember I had a Vauxhall Cavalier broken into in the late 80's. Only thing that was stolen was the radio on/volume knob ;)

Araldite or superglue should fix it but guess it may have gone brittle due to heat so probably best to replace.

it looks like a quarter inch spindle knob, the sort of things used on old radios and TVs :)

I think that is the case, especially after a decade of use, so while I thought maybe a repair, it will be delaying the inevitable.

Ordered on Tuesday. Arrived today :) Great service from Caravan Warehouse there :D
Got 4 gas knobs (3 x Gas Burners +1 x Gas Grill) and one Oven Knob. Still need a replacement for the Electric Plate but the Caravan Warehouse's price for that specific one is quite expensive for some reason, so just ordered one from an eBay seller at just under £6 inc postage.

My experience of a Spinflow hob (and grill) was that the tapered cones that turn in the tapered hollows of the valves had worn and were all leaking.
It was a very long time ago and I think I sorted them out with grinding paste and engineers blue until they were a precise fit again. No more leaks! Nowadays, I'd have just replaced the valves or the whole hob.
That's what I did recently with a Smev hob. It needed new burners and pan supports, and the ignition leads had corroded away. Replacing the dodgy parts would have cost more than a whole new hob.l

I had a leaky Smeg hob from new 30 years ago - I cant remember how I fixed it tho 😀
I also changed all the knobs because we didn't like the originals - weren't expensive as standard size.
