My hometown of South Shields has been placed firmly on the map today as we,ve just had a visit to our shores by this little fella (the first ever sighting in the UK). It,s called an "Eastern Crowned Warbler".
Apparantly It,s on a winter journey from China and headed for India:eek: as part of It,s migration and it must have lost Its way somehow:confused:

Their were lots of Twitchers down the seafront today with their telescopic lenses and many more are predicted for the weekend.

Do we have any Wild Twitchers on here? and let me know if you,re coming up here to catch a sighting:rolleyes:;)

come on then experts , what sort of owl was that at the brazilian GP ?

is there such a thing as a brawn owl ?

Thats all we needed, another illegal immigrant. It will not last long if it ends up in Laygate, Lenny. It`ll go straight in the pot.

I am not a twitcher, more of a scratcher but the tablets from the clinic help a lot. :D

I recon it's an escapee from an aviary as it's a long way to be blown of course.
