OK so I'm ready for the off on my very first motorhome adventure. Now you must remember that this was delivered to me door so this is the first time I have driven it as well.
Backs it out of the drive and turns the wheel.. NOT.. what the FFFFFFlipin eck.. Suprising how fast you forget that not every vehicle thats 20 years old had power steering!! So off we jolly well goes.. shoulders like Garth (showing me age) and more than a bead of sweat on me foreheed and I was only at the bottom of the street.
Zooooming off and after a fair few miles (one) hit the bug bear of all Bank holiday weekends.. Traffic and the tyne tunnel. Actually felt like pulling over then an making a brew. Still I resisted and after what seemed an age we were off oop Norf to the Cheviots.
First stop was Langleeford where we would have spent the night but some nice signs informed us that it wasnt polite to camp.. Period. Like wise when we got to the Wooler site. So out with the map and sat nav and headed north then east and eventually to Bowmont Water sooth of Town Yetholm. Found a lovely spot and spent the night. Brill.. spent quarter of an hour watching a pair of buzzards doing there thing. Some local peasants doing what peasants do in the grass, Opps sorry I mean pheasants.
So what have I learn t.. Hmmmm the main one is how fast to go around a bend before the cutlery flies out of the cupboard. How easy it is to stop for the loo, and after that.. I think I'm going to love wild camping.. Think I'll flog the tent.. Any byers out there???
