Multimo Sattelite Dish

Has anyone tried the Multimo portable satellite dish? In the spec's they claim
'Although it only measures 40cm in diameter, the Multimo has the performance of a 55cm satellite dish and can be used over the whole of Europe. It will receive all U.K. TV channels all over England, Scotland, Wales & Ireland and over most of France.'

If it's true it sounds like a good space-saver.

Hi,
i have a multimo that i`ve used in the uk but not europe & find it very good. Although i carry a 60cm dish & tripod in the roof box i often use the multimo for a quick setup while wilding & sometimes just because i can`t be bothered (especially turning up on site late evening) to set up the big rig.
I give it a thumbs up.

Being technically illiterate, this may be wrong but I think your information is out of date. We have a 66cm dish (Maxview) but no Sky box and can pick up all the Freesat BBC/ITV channels on 2A south beam until as far south as Barcelona. Further south than that, we only get TV news and BBC radio channels but people with a larger dish say they can get all the Freesat channels. So you don't seem to need a Skybox and card.

I was attracted to the Multimo from this thread and decided to buy one.
It arrived yesterday and I have had a chance to do a quick check using it from the van parked next to my house here in Edinburgh.

With the Multimo on the table of the MH and receiving through the plastic side windows (I tried the glass as well) I was able to receive the following sats with easily watchable signals using a sat signal meter to find them.

Thor at 1W
Astra 4A at 4.8E
Hotbird at 13E
Astra 1 at 19E
Astra 2 at 28.2 ( UK Sky)

Remains to be seen how well it does in France and Germany later this year.

My friend here as got a multimo dish and we tried it with my box but could not pick up any tv from the uk, it,s ok with Spanish tv and free view here. In the Hills above Alicante.

It was the bit about needing a Sky card that I particularly thought might be wrong because others with dishes larger than us say they can get Freesat in southern Spain.

i bought one .....load of ****e. faulty lnb first and then a faulty box. Both were repaired under warranty . not worth the hassle for me so i just dvds at home and take a selection with me.
i wish i had bought one from Aldi as everyone seems to like them, and they are a fraction of the price ( when available)
