Actually not in the house but in the MH which is in storage :(:(

We have set traps and the little sneeky bugger seems able to get the food but NOT trip the trap - no squashed mices  !!

He seems to be busy under the fitted fridge/freezer unit and in a place we cannot get at........... isn't that just typical

Bit worrying in case he knibbles through some cabling or plastic hose. Anyone any better bright ideas ????

Let the cat have some fun :D:D
(if you don't have a cat: borrow one )

Mouse trap

Try using chocolate on the mouse trap. Works better than cheese.
Warm up the spike so a small piece of chocolate melts onto the spike. This stops the mouse stealing the chocolate without setting off the trap.

Agree it works better than cheese.

Thought we had the same problem earlier this year, but turned out to be not one but 6 mice, we bought an ultrasonic rodent repellent, didn't work, put poison down, didn't work, set half a dozen traps used Opel fruits for bait worked a treat caught six. Have sine gone around the van putting mesh over all holes and vents hopefully that will do the trick, all food removed so no tempting smells inside either. They damaged a lot of wiring and some pipework. most of it found and sorted now. But one still to trace.

Sounds like a pretty efficient campaign you had Roger. We thought we had one or two mice but used traps baited with peanut butter - really effective. We got 11!! of the little b----s in the end but not before they'd chewed some of the electrics. Mice=really bad news in a camper!:(

Yep - that's our fear....... chewing electrics and waste pipes that you cannot see. How the hell did you find all the problems it/they caused?

Currently it seems to be pulling all the insulation fibres out from under the fridge and depositing it in the floor box where the tank lids are. That's what alerted us to them in the first place.

Maybe we'll go up armed with peanut butter, chocolate and opal fruits and bait each trap differently. That way we will do some market research into the taste preferences of mice ;)..... they are getting fed gobi berries currently as that was all hubby had in his car when he last went up there. So at least they'll be healthy little buggers :)

That's the problem! But one good tip is to use wire wool to block up even the tiniest space around any pipe that comes into the van...really pack it in tight. Apparently they hate chewing on wire wool (who wouldn't?:D) and it keeps more from getting in whilst you deal with the resident population. The gaps they can get through are tiny.:(

Good luck!

We got them in the house when the pub was knocked down at the end of the street, caught 9 in traps but there was many more, we have put in sonic plug in things and they work! no more mice, they all moved next door:)

I gp downn to mine once a week and put poison down ive found dead ones but ontside the van, so think they must only come in to eat :D
