I forgot to ask you last week but if you pull into a motorway service area where do you park? HGV area ------ Caravan area ------ car area???:confused::confused:

I go wherever it is less crowded but try to stay away from the H.G.V area as usually you will find spilt diesel on the ground.

Motorway parkings are:
unsafe
spoiled
noisy
cowded
unhealthy
unconfortable
too expensive (France, Portugal, Spain)
and I cannot think of any positive,
leave the motorway and have a sheltered place away of it :)

My reply was to the word parking.
But if the poster meant overnighting then perish the thought dont do it.
This part of the world on the motorway between Barcelona and Valencia is known as Bin Laden Valley:mad:

LOL yes just down the road from me.It has all been cleaned up a bit now,I think the only dangerous place is on the motorway its self, and the banditoes are mainly eastern block.

I guess it depends on the services as all are different, also will depend on the size of your pride and joy and your ability to manouevre it.
Mine is a private HGV and find the space in the HGV areas easier to move around unless someone with a caravan parks and blocks things up if they have no idea of the size that HGV's might need.

Agree in full and the truck area is the worst!!!!

You naughty Trucker, you :D

Woo - on dangerous ground here!

But Polly - that gives rise to a question I had too - I seem to recall a section on here that dealt with places to stop just off the motorways but I can't find it again -doh! ..anyone know?

I have a few fave services that I stop at regularly for the dog's sake - Killington and Stafford, for instance - but wouldn't want to spend more than half an hour there!
