Has anybody used motorlands to buy a van if so what are they like to deal with any good or bad points thanks

In the past we have bought 2 vans from them the last one being in 2002 I believe they are owned by the same people we never had an issue with them but both vans never had any problems for us to go complain about so cannot day what their backup service is like.

I bought a van two years ago from them. We had an issue with the electrics about two months after the purchase. They gave us the option of getting it repaired at any dealer and sending them the bill or going back to them. We took it to them and they lent us a car until it was fixed which turned out to be the next day. We also only got one key with the van, again they told me to get a new one and send them the bill, but as it turned out I found the spare key which the previous owner must have hidden in the van.

Bought a van off them 2014 just before they moved ,had a couple of issues which i took it back to them for ( they did sort them) had another couple of bits while it was still under warranty but decided to sort myself as it was to far to keep taking it back . Run by Carl and his 2 sons who are all hands on and the stock has more than doubled over the last few years. I called in last year as i needed a part for the awning and they were quite helpful even though i did do the job myself .

We bought our Hobby from them in the last year for a fair price and a good trade in on the 1997 1.9td Hymer Swing.

I found a leaky waste on the shower and a spongy lower (outer) floor which this had caused. They took the van in whilst I was away in Italy for a couple of weeks and put that right and showed me pictures of the strip out and repair process when I picked the van up. They also repaired another section further forward which had been the result of an ingress around one window a long time before the van came to them. Our van came with a strike back alarm and fitting certificate is by Todds in the month before we bought it, a years MOT and a new cam belt.

As ever it's a case of buyer beware but I found the people easy to deal with although the dad, Carl?, can come over as being a bit brusque. Oh just remembered, they also supplied some Truma heating duct terminals which were broken. For what it's worth, they source a lot of their stock from the likes of Marquis and other big dealerships. Unlike those big dealerships you will not find the blokes sporting blazer and tie.

Cheers

hi
i bought my hymer off them in 2014. it was a good price but i knocked
the price down by £1000 and took it without any warranty or hab check.
i was living to far away to go back and forth and had to buy it there and
drive away. i new i would do any jobs myself.
i found them ok to deal with.

Thank for feedback will be paying them a visit at weekend seen a van I like thanks

Another Positive Recommendation

We bought our motorhome from them in 2012.
The screen price was fair & they did not move much from it, however I negotiated two new leisure batteries to be included.
It would have been easy for them to put the cheapest, lowest capacity ones in but they put in two good ones which lasted 5 years despite having to power the compressor fridge whenever we were using the motorhome. I think you could conclude from this they are fair in their dealings.
There was no sales pressure at all. They allowed us unlimited time to explore the vehicles at our leisure & I test drove the vehicle with just my partner & I in the vehicle.
Despite showing a keen interest in the vehicle, we were still allowed to walk away without receiving any of the silly sales patter usually encountered encouraging a rush to purchase.
It was a very relaxing sales procedure throughout.

We had no cause to return, therefore cannot comment on after sales service.

I wish you luck with your potential purchase.

Went today got a good deal on our old van they gave us £1500 more than moterhome depot offered so happy collect it in two week

Music to my ears! ...sound a decent outfit to deal with reading comments good for them . I am happy you feel you got a good deal and wish many happy years with the new addition to the stable
