Motorhome shows

I went to the International Caravan and Motorhome Show last year at the NEC. Got a discount voucher from MMM magazine, so got in for £9.00 I think.

I thought it was great value for the day, clambering in and out of all the motorhomes (didn't bother going near the caravans). There were 3 massive halls of motorhomes to look at including some of those huge US RV's with slides, garages for smart cars, and the like.

A day wasn't enough though, I could have spent 3 days there! Dragged my dad along too and he was pretty tired by the end of the day.

Hi Cipro thanks for that usefull information.
In a previous life we had a vw camper and the weekend shows at Malvern were very lively at night. I don't think you get the same evening entertainment at the Nec.

We quite like the look of the Stratford on Avon show.

Yes, there's not much doing in the evening at the NEC. They chuck you out at 5.30 and that's it for the night. It's a good venue for bad weather though.

On the subject of meet ups at shows would anyone else be intrested in arranging a meet at the Stratford on Avon show.

Details are:-

Show dates; 6th - 8th June
Location; Stratford on Avon Racecourse
Cost; Fri onwards £25 per unit including 2 adults extra adults £5 each children free. Camping available untill noon on Mon. Camping also available from Mon. 2nd onwards at £5 per night per unit.

Entertainment; (Quote from the booking form):-

"On site entertainment will include a different cabaret on Friday and Saturday evenings, coach trips to local points of intrests, good food, drinking & dancing."

Also:- "Back by popular demand Saturday night fireworks"

This could be a good venue for a get together as its reasonably central, (exept unfortunatly for those in Scotland), and if there is some interest I would be quite happy to make some enquiries about block booking, as I believe that the do have reserved areas for clubs so that we could all be guaranteed to be parked together.

I must admit that as it is close to us we usually go for the day and when we have been they usually manage to arrange some decent weather.

Although I am aware that this is still a little way off, as it is necessary to book I feel we should make initial arrangements sooner rather than later.

Nice Idea geoff but I think there is another get together at the same venue a couple of weeks before as posted by Voxol, have you seen the posts? just worried they might clash.

Hi Rick.

Voxol's meet is 25th - 28th April, 6 weeks before this show so I doubt that there should be any conflict. I also suspect that as they are different sorts of meets, I should think that some that might be interested in the show may not be interested in the previous meet and vice-versa.

By the way Voxel has just posted an update/reminder for the April meet:-

This gives all the details, date, venue, etc.

Thanks Geoff, please keep posting reminders as I would love to come but would not arrive untill 9-10 on Friday, would that be a problem?
