Following on from the thread ‘Putting something back’ on this and a couple of other forums, it was suggested that a litter action group be formed on the Litteraction.org.uk web site – so I’ve done that today.

There’s no intention to have group litter collections or anything like that. All we need to do is collect when we wildcamp and encourage other wildcampers to do the same. If the group grows I'll do a 'press release' to MMM, Practical Motorhome etc The reputation of motorhomers can only benefit - Wildcampers especially.

Now we need a few founding members and a few photos. If you tap - motorhome litter action group - in to Google the first item to come up is a link to the group web site. Sign up to the group if you feel it’s a good thing. If you want to put up a photo pm it me and I'll add it on. Let me know how many bags you pick up and I'll update the website.

We could pick it up whenever using the motorhome, not just when wild camping.

Without taking it to extremes, we are probably better equipped than most people to carry litter and dispose of it correctly.

My thoughts exactly.................. Bit worrying

I tried 5 times yesterday and it froze each time I tried to send the application. I am going to keep on trying though as it could possibly have been my Vodafone connection.

We`ve just signed up. My missus was the village caretaker for a few years & litter picking was part of the job. ;)

fantastic idea, just joined,

161 views and only 8 joined?????? summat not r8 here,

I've signed up but the registration process requires name and address and rejects you if you try to leave it out. I guess many will feel some disquiet about so identifying themselves on a website.

Well we eventually got signed up as Heidihymer. As for the process requiring an address I just put the town, post code. It covers quite a few properties in a town and we don't live there or are on the electoral roll their as we are full timing.

CPRE are a reputable organisation so I have no fear of putting info on their site. http://www.litteraction.org.uk/motorhome-litter-action-group

This link should get people to the site without doing a Google search as it is getting lost in other links now.

18 members by this morning - that's pretty good. 16 are from this Wild Camping website - just shows that wildcampers are a responsible lot.

I shouldn't worry about the address thing - I'm the coordinator and I can't see any details. Not even email addresses - I could email those who sign up but not see the email address.
