Motorhome insurance and street parking.

Last year when renewing my motorhome insurance i found it really difficult to get anyone to insure my hymer 534 because it is parked on the avenue outside my house. Eventually i got Staveley head to insure it at a really good price of £290.
This year they refuse to re-insure it because the criteria has changed, apparently they won't insure photographers even though i have stressed on that i do not use my motorhome for business. I changed my job title on the form to see if the result would change, it then stated they can not insure me because of parking on the street.
It is now due for renewal and i am again finding it difficult to find anyone to insure it being parked on the road. I have tried the recommended insurer insurance choice by some members, but they want almost £800.00, a huge jump up in price.
I have full no claims discount, and never had a claim. My postcode is M25.
Does anyone know of any insurers that may give me a better price, if they will insure me at all.

Mine's insured by the NFU ~it may be worth giving them a call

See my rant from last week about trying to get insurance. In the end I managed to get it with a company called Shield and amazingly by far the cheapest. The nearest (but not as good a policy as we want due to a bit of extended euro travel this year) was £130 more expensive.

Thanks Elfit i have requested a call back from nfu so hopefully they will ring me tomorrow. Bob72, i see your insurance problems was with a self build which i could understand being difficult to obtain but mine is a standard Hymer b534. I have just had an online quote from shield with whom you had a quote from, which for me was just over £810.00.
Surely someone must have reasonable quotes for a Hymer motorhome parked on the road.

That was my typical quote but I was extremely surprised with shields quote of 270quid.

You will find a lot of prices have gone up due to cheats making false whiplash claims. Their deceit means we all have to pay £100s extra.

Just when i thought i had a quote from NFU to go with they apologised the next day saying it can not go through as it is parked on the road and not in a garage or secure compound.

We've had 3 vans in the last 6yrs all of them kept on the side of the road apposite our house and not had any problem getting insurance. Think we're with Comfort Insurance
