Motorhome hire.

Hello people.
I'm in a bit of a pickle. I am supposed to be going up to Glencoe for Ner'day weekend to met up with some relatives who have already booked accommodation at The Clachaig Inn. My own 'van is off the road at the moment with little chance of being repaired in the near future. Now, I have looked at hiring from one or two of the bigger companies but their charges are astronomical ie £560 for 4 days. What I wanted to know is, has anyone got a contact or indeed hire out their own 'van at reasonable cost. I live in the Glasgow area so fairly close {100mls or so} would be ideal. This is about my last hope for the trip, so fingers crossed. Thanking you in advance. Jim.

theres a man across the road from perthshire caravans that hires m/homes-I dont have a contact no but maybe wee-z or sundown have a number..

I would love to help, but have only seen the hire site in passing

am in Edinburgh at present so cant even go and look for phone number
on the board. Sundown is a bit nearer than us but have not seen him online for a while.

Noah and Nelly I wish you success in your search.

Thanks for the reply guys. I think you are talking about Tay Tourers. They are still asking around £500. Bit to steep. Hey ho something might turn up. There's always the tent.

Why not just book accommodation at the inn.

If it's full what about anywhere near there?

I've hired from Scenic Getaway Motorhome Hire London - Motorhome Rental - Campervan Hire - RV Rental - Motorhome Leasing in the past

Not much use for you; North London.

But they do some really good rates and I checked for early December and they are doing £350 a week specials which I think is great value. But the prices do go up to £500 + for the Xmas period. I think this is true of any motorhome hire, there is a lot of demand over Xmas. £500 a week is probably the cheapest you'll get commercially.

There is "No room at the inn" as they say. Believe me I have tried every where from self catering cottages to youth hostels and nearby hotels, very popular is Glencoe at new year. Thanks for the suggestion anyway. Jim.

Girvan

I may be off target, but there is a Company (A Garage) in Girvan that hire them out, if that helps.

Motorhome hire

Result result:):). CliffyP. Thanks for your lead. I tracked it to Freedom motorhome hire who are at Parkend garage in Girvan. I now have a 4 day hire on a 5 berth Peugeot for less than £400. Isn't this interweb thingy marvelous. I'll give you all a toast at the bells:p. Cheers. Jim. Thanks again.
