Motability are using the RAC now and they can handle recovery with disabled drivers or passengers. I know Motability dont do motorhomes (as far as I am aware) but RAC do. May be worth asking for a quote as a comparison if nothing else

There seems to be a particular RAC policy for disabled blue badge holders, but most policies seem to just say "passengers" surely it would be discriminatory to exclude passenger cover because of a disability?? I suppose the blue badge one is really aimed at the driver being disabled, whilst the motability one only covers that actual motability vehicle. Have scrutinised a couple and they don't define or mention disability??

Beware

Please read the small print of the cover, I found one policy did NOT COVER

Finland or Islands, only the mainland, not much use if you go to Norway or SCOTLAND! !

Anyone who meets the criteria can get a blue badge, it is not necessarily the driver it is just to cover the vehicle the disabled person travels in. I just thought it may be worth checking if they would cover and getting a quote. When it comes to specialist insurance (which some disabilities could be classed as) a lot of mainstream insurers either walk away or charge the earth. Dont believe that equality is actually working everywhere unfortunately although it is getting better :(

I know for a fact that RAC does cover disabled passengers in the UK, I just dont know of any disabled passengers who have used RAC abroad. Motability itself is a bit different and off subject for this one as it covers the car not the person, unless they have arranged the purchase/lease of a mh of course. Wouldn't like to know what the advance payment would be though haha
