Not sure if this has been posted before but just had my MOT done, there is a new format certificate which now shows your axle weights on it, luckily I had my motorhome full so the weights will be handy for those French police who decide to stop and check :p

Hi and welcome to the forum.

When you say the axle weights are shown on the MOT, is that the actual weight on the day of the MOT, or what is on the vehicle plate (ie individual axle load rating etc)

The test result is on the brake test sheet and I have not noticed axle weights there before so I may be wrong ! Below are the results and other data which leads me to believe they were live weights at the time of test

Think I will check with the test centre tomorrow to find out for definite and also look out my old test certs.

On test sheet Axle 1 = 1250kg Axle 2 = 1618kg Test summary Measured Vehicle Weight = 2868kg

On my vehicle plate Axle 1 = 1600kg Axle 2 = 1650kg

In conversion handbook Mass in running order = 2543kg
Mass Laden = 3300kg

When I had my vehicle weighed at a VOSA station in Feb 2010 Axle 1= 1320kg Axle 2= 1660kg Gross 2980kg

Thanks for that. It looks like you could be right.

I will have to watch myself at the next MOT. Mine is a tag axle on an AlKo chassis and they always run close to the limit on the front axle.

I wonder if it is a fail if you are overloaded?

hi ,guessing but if 5% over they could prohibit the proceeding journey till weight is took off. 10% is a fine. thats something like what they do with hgv. axle weights are a big worry on hgv,s . specially as you unload and move things around at times.

Had my van MOT'd 1st November, new style MOT certificate was just printed out but no detail about any weights or brake test.

vosa just love to see our p!keypals approaching them in a 7.5 tonner with an hiab fitted:banana: even happier if it has a steel tipper body fitted and loaded :cool1:
or the car auction lads in a 3.5ton pickup fitted with transporter body with a car on :scared:
