Hello can anyone give advice please.Eldiss motorhome on puegot boxer 1998 failed test due to leaking front shock absorber certainly wasnt leaking last week must have failed on way to test or during test,so needs changed.
The tester and local dismantler say horrible to do
anyone done one ? why are they bad to do. (wouldnt think twice about doing car shockers)
Also are they uprated for Eldiss or standard? 3500kg
Guess what im doing this bank holiday
thanks kenny

Did both on my 94 Ducato in about 3-4 hours, the only specialist tool you need is a spring compressor.
Have a poke around various sites for info till you''ve got the gist of things and give it a go, great way to find out more about your own van and you know you won't leave any nuts off or loose. If anything I think they are easier than a car because of the space you have to work with in the wheel arch, get a couple of good trolley jacks and at least 1 small bottle jack to help ,push, hold, jiggle and wobble things back into place.
Oh and take a good few photo's before you start as an aid memoir and possible to assist others that may need to change theirs.
Got mine from europarts about £35 each.

thanks haaamster photos excellent idea. Looking at web for replacements sites selling shockers saying not suitable for campers so wonder if existing ones are uprated ? Thanks again for the quick reply hearing from someone who has done the job gives confidence.

Nice to be of service :toppa: The only thing you really need to worry about (well on mine anyway) is the wiring harness is sort of fiddly to get back in place when you put it back together.
Mine kind of ran around the top of the interior nuts but after a bit of delicate manouvering they soon fitted back into place.

Had a look at job seems easier than expected thanks again haaamster
Next problem local motor factor has 2 shocks in stock 1000kg and 1400kg both say on his list not suitable for campers.
Would this mean A class motorhomes. Does anyone know if eldiss would have changed the shocks It does look like an ordinary peugot boxer chassis cab.
It is a 1998 Eldiss Autostratus on a Puegot 320 lwb
Would apreciate any info
