The van went in yesterday for its mot. Also booked a full service and cam belt change. Decided to do the cam belt as we have had the van for 2 years now and don’t know when it was last done. Plus we have done 45k miles in that time so figured best we do it.Passed the mot no advisory ‘s , full service. And the belt. All done in a day and the total cost £673 . I’m well chuffed with that price as thought it would be around the grand mark. Ohhh and taxed it yesterday too . So all set for another year. Yipppeeeee.

Belt

Very good, yeah we wintering in Spain with new cam belt....does ease the mind somewhat !! Maja

It was well worth changing the cam belt if you don't know when it's been done.
Gf's father got a very nice Mazda, and I advised him to change all the belts as there was no record of it being changed, he didn't bother due to cost, a year later ancillary belt snapped and took out the cam belt.

If You'd left the tax for 6 days you'd have saved a month's tax I'm waiting for the 1st to do mine been on sorn for the last 2 mths

I say always change the belts when you get a new wagon, brother inlaw bought a pug with full service history to which it was ment to have belt done,i took a look and could see the bolts had never been out and advised to change, but did he ,nope week later bang engine fu-ked valves bent holes in piston & one bent rod.
I let him change the engine for being a ar-e which took him 3 mths and it was a ba--s after he had finished.

As I was renewing it will start from Dec 1st. And the mot was due dec 14th. So I still keep that date.
