Hi all,
dunno if I can post these pics, but here goes.
Went to Filey & then Durham over the new year, at Filey brigg campsite I was struggling to get the van level due to the ice on the pitch..The levelling chock kept pushing away from the rear tyre on the O/S rear wheel, rather than riding up onto it. In the end, I gave up & found a piece of flagstone to reverse onto to level it up.
A couple of days later, we drove on to Durham, stayed there , no problem.
When we were about to set off home, I discovered the O/S rear tyre was flat..Changed the wheel. All ok. The tyre was split between the sidewall & the tread, the split was big! These tyres were put on 2 years ago & are 8 ply commercial, not rubbish. ( well it is now!)

I had a new 8 ply fitted (Same make) so we'll see how it goes. The split was on the inside so theres no way I could have seen the damage.

Hi Dogseal
Good luck with the new tyre,
I have often wondered why every day on the motorway there are lorrys that have the treads come off of what look to be perfectly good tyres for no apparent reason.

Maybe one of the other guys can explain why this would be ?

A lot of the time re moulds, and the glue comes loose ? combination of load and heat. I suspect nowt to do with the OP's problem thoough
