5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug (MicroSafe)

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well..
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT ! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).

And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world?
Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

Sounds yummy... but what size is the mug to take all those ingredients?? Desperate Dan size??

It does work and it is very yummy but you need to put it in a basin as even the biggest coffee mug is still too small.
Try putting a spoonful of Bailey's into it!!

sucker for choccy cake

Well I've made it! Good job I didn't take any notice of doing it in a mug..or I would have been a mug Coolas spending the rest of the afternoon cleaning the microwave! I made it in a pint mixing bowl.. It looks good enough to eat.. a bit hot yet but watch this space for the verdict. Diet starts again tomorrow

If you want to go completely over the top on this-one??
put a large (or a few normal) rolos in the middle of the mixture before cooking.
BUT be aware they'll be like lava if you don't let it cool abit before you dive-in

Hi all,

Just had a go at this, ( shock, horror, yes I know, a bloke baking cakes!, whatever next!!!!! ).

If you don't want to do a big one, ( ooerr missus! ), it works just as well divided up into a dozen, ( that's twelve to you decimal only peeps ), cake cases.

I cooked mine in a normal oven at 180 deg C for twenty minutes, I think that's about gas 3 or 4.

They came out ok, so that's one we will be taking with us on our travels.
