Just back from kinloch rannoch, a beautifull part of the country, set amoung the mountains and next to loch rannoch. we got permission to pitch up in a small field and had a wonderfull time, untill i tried to leave ! The hymer as usual got stuck on a slope that a granny on an electric scooter could have smoked, anyway 40 minutes later we managed to get the 20 feet up this little lane to freedom. In hindsight i should have overnighted at the medical practice carpark, just a few yards from where we camped but with a tarmac surface and a view of the mountains ! but this can only be used on a saturday night as the medical centre is open mon to sat. Actually I spied lots of potential overnight wildcamp spots in and around this area.On the road up to kinloch rannoch my radiator sprung a leak which left me out in the torential downpour topping up every 10 miles, a situation not helped by the tortuos roads. Anyway we managed to limp home next day safe and sound and still had a great time regardless. So if you are ever in that neck of the woods I`d recommend a stopover, and with a little scouting about a night or two`s wilding would be easy and really rewarding, especially if you get some good weather. Although the night before was a washout we awoke to glorious sunshine and all I can say is WOW I`m so glad I went, burst radiator or not.
