We went there this weekend and had a wonderful time, Its literally on the beach, £10-00 a night inc Leccy and its a CCC affiliated site. Its in Haverigg not Millom but worth a visit, Rugby Club is open every night and there is a few pubs in the village. Good walks along the beach and possibly found a wilding site nearby, Its near the lighthouse but its a bit bumpy to get to,There is a free carpark past the lighthouse, But remember its an unmade concrete road full of potholes so drive carefully..:):):) And clocked up a few miles there and back:D:D Do a google search on millom lighthouse, then follow the road keeping the sea on your right...:D:D:D:D

Update just done a map search the light house is not on as its just been restored, Its at the head of the sea defence wall, with a fresh water res behind it.. hope this helps, plenty of parking space there.

I have just been along there today and there was a Motorhome using the area near the lighthouse. RSPB reserve at the lighthouse with a hide in an area overlooking the lagoon which is the result of the land sinking after the Iron ore was extracted. Road is rough but Smart car handled it OK. Plenty wide enough. Glass in lighthouse windows has been broken.

Lighthouse is at 54.190384 -3.267532 Parking anywhere along the old sea wall from about 54.196911 -3.284151 From this last point to the lighthouse you have to go through a gate that leads to Lakeside Caravan Park then turn right just before the caravans. If you go to the car park beyond the lighthouse (Old Iron Works site) it is quite secluded and there is a nice looking beach.

I empty my toilet in the Toilets at 54.195259 -3.288518 This is on the road to the Rugby Club and the Lakeland Outdoor Club, naturist site that I use further up the dunes through a locked gate. (membership £40 per year, no other fees but no services either) THERE IS NO PARKING ON THE DUNES IN THIS AREA. No water available in the toilets. (Hand washing through a hole in the wall).

Fish & Chips + Cafe, Shop, Newsagent/Post Office, WMC, and Harbour Hotel in Haverigg.

Tesco and other shops including a filling station in Millom, where there is a very good folk Museum in the railway station building. Toilets in car park (restored by Tesco) are first left immediaty over the railway bridge just before Tesco. Free Car park.
