Went down to start Matilda up today and check I had drained evrything, went under the sink and a mouse ran out, then I saw another hiding. Now why do such little creatures scare me so much :D got some posion and will go back in a day or 2.

I only used her on bonfire night it didnt take them long to get settled in

I would take steps to erradicate them as quickly as possible. Mice can cause all sorts of damage in a motorhome, they can chew through electrical wiring and plastic waterpipe work, not to mention the heath hazzard if they get into your food cupboards.
I wouldn't use poison, you may kill them, then have them decomposing in some place you cant remove them. It will stink your van out if this happens. Put some traps down so that you can see when they have been killed.

trouble with using poison is that they will probably die in the van and unless you find them quickly they will start to decompose and the stench is awful. we used traps and caught 7 of the little devils over a week or so

as jeff says get them out as quick as poss i had a rat take up residence and chewed loads of the wiring to make a nest under a seat took hours to fix an the smell was horrid,i moved the van to somewhere else and must have left it behind never did see it again.

No , dont poison them:eek: they are all gods little creatures , buy a couple of these new humane mouse traps that catch them without killing them and release them some where else;):D:cool:

But if you release them, make sure its at least a mile away...we did this and dumped them in a field about half a mile away...and the one with the baldy patch was back in the trap the next day!:D

gourmet

hi there. i agree, don't poison them......
you could catch them and make a pie. mmmm

Mice are vermin as far as i'm concerned, and like rats i have no problem with killing them.

Humane traps

We used a humane trap in the house once but the mouse got so scared and worked up it died anyway :(

I believe if any animal is damaging my property or is a health hazard, then that animal becomes vermin and i will deal with it by killing it unless a better solution can be found get rid of it permanently.
No one gives a damn about killing insects, but people seem to think that because an animal has a cute face then it somehow has more of a right to life than less pleasant looking creatures.
Its hypocritical to me.

Killing some vermin like rats & mice is necessary, otherwise you just leave that vermin to become vermin to someone else.
Can you imagine the plagues of rats we would have if no one ever controlled them by killing them.

we have two cats:cool: funny thing is the only mice we have had in the house seem to be the ones the old ginger tom brings in  he seems to delight in putting unharmed mice at the feet of my dear wife :D:D:D who screams as said mouse runs round the room. he seems not to kill mice but he loves a nice jucy rat, as we have allotments at the end of our garden he is in his element many times i have to clear up half a dozen or so dead rats on a morning he has even been known to chase the odd squirrel or two i usually let the cats spend a bit of time in the van this seems to work as no signs of mice yet .

Humane, well perhaps not

A mate of mine catches the mice in a humane trap and then drowns them! Think a quick knock on the head is better, so far the score in our van is - people 3 mice 1.

I don't even kill insects unless I really have to.
When I was a kid, I walked on lots of ants and afterwards, I thought What have I done that for?:eek::( and from that day I stopped killing anything unless absolutely necessary

but you are happy for somebody else to kill the sheep pigs cattle ect that you will be eating for your sunday dinner. i say if you can't kill it don't eat it

does job of a cat but better crack

invest in a good wee jack russle.theyre small enough for the camper, will kill anything it gets its jaws around.:D
