Hi all. It's taken me ages to work out how to do a thread!

Disaster!!!!!!!!!!!!! Flat battery... we think :( We're waiting for the AA to come and rescue us because we can't get jump leads to reach. Battery was brand new last September and we never set the immobilizer, so not a clue what's going on this time.

I didn't have any mobile phone numbers, so if anyone from the group sees this, please pass the word around. If anyone knows how to contact Herbenny1, would you give her a call please. We'll join everyone when we can and if you're not by the vans, we'll look for you at the pub or in the Bluebird. Fingers crossed!

Happy ending despite the battery! We just got home from a fabulous day at the coast, where we met up with Him & Herbenny and Davidv and Mandy...not forgetting Sonny and Truffle. We were sad not see any others though and, just in case someone had parked further back along the greensward, I knocked on the door of every parked van to ask if they were part of the Surrey Group! One woman saw me coming and pulled down the blinds, so I don't think she was one of us... I'm so not that scary - honest :lol-053: The sun shone for us all day, although it was blowing a proper hoolie!... not the day for getting the chairs out on the grass but perfect for retreating to the beach-front cafe ;)

We had such a good day... it was a joy to meet you all and your lovely MHs and I can't wait for the next time

What time and where were you parked, we were there from 10-00 untill 12-30.

What a shame we missed you! We were the Ferring end from just after 10 and stayed til 4.30. We checked down towards Sea Lane cafe after lunch but you must have gone by then - where abouts were you parked? Did you walk towards Ferring? Maybe we should have left a note on our vans. Sorry about that!
Are you going to Basingstoke? Perhaps we could meet up there.

Oh no, that's such a shame - I'm so sorry we missed you :( We did try to track everyone down and I thought we'd knocked on every door but I'm guessing you were further back towards the Worthing end of Goring, rather than the Ferring end... we reached that part too late. Next time we'll be sure to do some recognisable flags or something - plus swap mobile phone numbers before the event! Hope you're still up for a next time :)

Hi All....oh what a shame stormywalters so sorry we missed you:cry:. Hope you can make the meet in Hampshire so we can meet up then. Thanks all for such a lovely day ..what a fantastic location, me and himbenny loved it and cant wait to back again in a couple of weeks !!! even the little sod loved it too, even though he did make me a nervous wreck. We had a fantastic night down there last night with a lovely sunset and apart from some rowdy kids in the early hours of the morning, they quickly went on thier merry way.

Lovely to meet you all and your four wheelers oh and not forgetting the adorable 'Truffle' who is as sweet as her name. Enjoy your week J & M have fun fun fun:banana: which I know doubt you do anyway, and M & D ...yeah looking forward to seeing you again in two weeks to pick your brains on some of the lovely locations you mentioned.

See you soon

x

Hi all we were parked about 300 yards away from the Ferring end in a white VW T4 with a tazmanian devil on the bonnet. We sat and watched the wind surfers setting up while we had lunch. When we left we drove to the end to turn around, there were some people at the back of a camper. A feller looked at us and i thought he might wave if it was one of our meet. We tend to get looked at a lot, i think they are looking to see whats on our bonnet (no it`s not the biggest sea gull poop ever). The van had a heart shape in the front window, PLEASE say it wasent you.

We`re on holiday 22nd june for 2 weeks so wont be able to meet until after then.

I`ve just had a thought.....friday 13th july (yeah i know ) the ships Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary 2 will be in dock at Southampton. They will be leaving at 16-30 and we plan to go to watch them leave. I know it`s a bit early but if anyone is about there`s a nice big car park at Hamble-le-Rice, you can even stay there the night.
Sue n Steve :D

Glad you all had a good day. We got back from London at 2am this morning :sleep-040:

stormywalters - we may be able to meet up at Hamble on 13 July as I finish work early on a Friday and did want to see the ships.

that would be great lets hope the weather bucks up. I took my daughter to see them leave on the jubilee it was really nice just us girls. Couldnt really see the fireworks due to low cloud but it was still a good evening. We didnt get home until 1 am and i had work the next morning.
I hope we can both make this one and perhaps a few others, I`ll PM my mobile number.
Sue
