BTW this is the ONLY message I will copy & paste on the subject - in case I am the first to go under the new system:confused::eek:

Thanks Margaret,

He is pining for me really. :D:D

I texted him before Xmas about an offer on some 18 year old Brandy and he never replied. Maybe he is mad about me not joining the other side. Who knows and who cares? He is usually hard work as he expects everyone else to sort out the mayhem he brings with him. :D:D

Thank him kindly for his kind words.

Talking of old brandy. We had a bottle over Christmas ...................... looked a bit like a smuggled bottle, it was dated 1928. We are not really brandy drinkers, but it was good. Very good.

After some research (it had probably come originally from a patient of my Grandfather) we traced it to the forerunner of an outfit called the Wine Society, in Stevenage. I don't know why my grandfather didn't drink it, but my father was not a spirit drinker (hardly a drinker at all, like me) so it had been in my father's "cellar" until we cleared it out when he moved to a nursing home. My brother suggested throwing it out, as much as anything because the label looked a bit home made, but not liking to waste anything we brought it home. It sat in a cupboard for several years until we decided to try it.
It was very clear, but also very dark, and I have no idea how alcoholic it was but it certainly helped me sleep:cool: And it was as good as any malt whisky I have tasted, except perhaps 18 year old Glenmorangie. But then, as I say, I am not really a drinker ........................
